These colorful, crispy biscuit pops are a fun and easy breakfast treat featuring vibrant layers of biscuit dough coated in caramelized sugar for a perfect crunchy and soft texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (10 count) ready-to-bake biscuit dough (Pillsbury flaky layers preferred)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • Food coloring gels (red, blue, green, yellow, purple)
  • 10 wooden popsicle sticks or skewers (soaked in water for 20 minutes)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Optional: sprinkles or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  2. Divide biscuit dough into five equal portions.
  3. Add a small drop of gel food coloring to each portion and knead gently until fully blended.
  4. Roll each colored dough portion into a 10-inch long, 1-inch thick log.
  5. Layer the colored logs side by side and press gently to form a rainbow log. Wrap with plastic wrap and chill for 10 minutes.
  6. Cut chilled dough into 10 equal pieces about 1 inch thick.
  7. Insert a pre-soaked wooden stick halfway into each piece, twisting slightly to secure.
  8. Brush each biscuit pop lightly with melted butter, then roll or sprinkle granulated sugar evenly on all sides.
  9. Place biscuit pops upright on prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  11. Remove from oven and transfer to wire rack to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Soak wooden sticks in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning. Chill colored dough before cutting to keep colors distinct. Brush with melted butter before sugar coating for a crispy caramelized crust. Rotate baking tray halfway through baking for even sugar melting. Avoid overbaking to prevent dryness. Optional cinnamon or nutmeg in sugar adds warm flavor.
