A quick and easy heart-shaped waffle dessert board perfect for Galentine’s Day or any cozy gathering, featuring fluffy waffles and customizable sweet toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1¾ cups (420ml) whole milk
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Blueberries or raspberries
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate chips or chunks (semi-sweet preferred)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Maple syrup or honey (optional drizzle)
  • Whipped cream or Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, and ½ teaspoon salt.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat 2 large eggs until frothy. Add 1¾ cups whole milk, ½ cup melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Make the Batter: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula just until combined; lumps are okay.
  4. Preheat the Waffle Maker: Heat your heart-shaped waffle iron fully and lightly grease if needed.
  5. Cook the Waffles: Pour about ½ cup batter onto the iron. Close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and easily releases. Repeat for 4 waffles.
  6. Keep Waffles Warm: Transfer waffles to a cooling rack set over a baking sheet in a warm oven (200°F) to keep crisp.
  7. Prepare the Dessert Board: Arrange waffles on a serving board. Scatter strawberries, blueberries, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips. Dust with powdered sugar and offer maple syrup or honey for drizzling. Add dollops of whipped cream or Greek yogurt.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Encourage guests to build their own waffle bites with toppings.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs and milk for smooth batter. Do not overmix to avoid tough waffles. Preheat waffle iron thoroughly and lightly grease to prevent sticking. Keep waffles warm on a cooling rack in a warm oven to maintain crispness. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a toaster oven.
