Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works well)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (full fat recommended)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Tortilla chips or sturdy crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Shred cooked chicken finely and toss with buffalo wing sauce until well coated.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch dressing until smooth.
  4. Fold buffalo chicken into the creamy base gently.
  5. Transfer mixture to an 8×8-inch baking dish and smooth the top.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, black olives, and blue cheese crumbles on top.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips or preferred dippers.

Notes

Keep cream cheese at room temperature before mixing for smooth texture. Avoid overbaking to prevent dryness. Prep toppings while dip bakes to save time. Use gluten-free chips for gluten-free option. Substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for lighter version. Add cayenne or extra buffalo sauce for more heat.
