These sliders combine sweet brown sugar glaze with savory ham on soft Hawaiian rolls, making a quick and crowd-pleasing snack perfect for parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls (King’s Hawaiian recommended)
  • 1.5 pounds thinly sliced deli ham (smoked or honey-glazed preferred)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally into two halves—top and bottom—without separating individual rolls.
  3. Arrange the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Layer the thinly sliced ham evenly over the bottom rolls.
  5. Place the top half of the rolls back on, lining them up with the bottom.
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  7. Brush the glaze generously over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Sprinkle poppy seeds evenly on top if using.
  9. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake an additional 5-7 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  11. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing between the rolls.

Notes

If glaze is too thick, warm slightly in microwave for 10-15 seconds to ease brushing. Covering with foil traps steam to keep rolls soft. Use serrated knife to slice rolls to avoid squishing. Sliders can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking. For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil. For gluten-free, use gluten-free Hawaiian-style rolls.
