Quick and easy crescent roll bites filled with creamy cheese, spicy jalapeños, and optional bacon bits, perfect for parties or casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz or 226 g) crescent roll dough, store-bought refrigerated
  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (about 100 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 12 medium jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup bacon bits (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives or green onions, finely chopped
  • Non-stick cooking spray or melted butter for greasing the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease your baking sheet with non-stick spray or a light coat of melted butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeños, bacon bits (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles without stretching the dough.
  4. Place about a tablespoon of the cheese and jalapeño filling near the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  5. Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip, encasing the filling. Tuck the tip underneath slightly and place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about an inch apart.
  6. Optionally, brush each bite lightly with melted butter for a golden crust.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crescent rolls are golden brown and filling is bubbly. Watch closely around 12 minutes to avoid burning.
  8. Let the bites cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh chopped chives or green onions.

Notes

[‘Do not overfill the crescent triangles to prevent leaking.’, ‘Seed jalapeños for milder heat.’, ‘Use softened cream cheese for smooth filling.’, ‘Roll dough gently to avoid tearing.’, ‘Watch baking time closely to avoid burning edges.’, ‘Optional: sprinkle smoked paprika on top before baking for smoky flavor.’, ‘Can assemble and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking; add extra baking time if baking from cold.’, ‘Freeze baked bites for up to 2 months; reheat in oven for best texture.’]
