A cozy Halloween charcuterie board that mixes the silly with the sophisticated, featuring candy corn alongside aged cheddar, brie, and other delicious ingredients. Perfect for gatherings where you want something festive without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces aged cheddar, sliced into thin triangles
  • 8 ounces brie, whole wheel or wedge
  • 4 ounces goat cheese log, sliced into rounds
  • 6 ounces smoked gouda, cubed
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate squares (70% cocoa)
  • 6 ounces salami, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces prosciutto, torn into ribbons
  • ½ cup marinated olives
  • ½ cup cornichons
  • ½ cup roasted almonds
  • ¼ cup pumpkin seeds, toasted
  • 8 ounces assorted crackers
  • 1 small baguette, sliced and lightly toasted (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • Dried edible flowers (optional)
  • Mini pumpkin or gourds for decoration

Instructions

  1. Start with your bowls. Place small ramekins or bowls on the board first. Fill one with honey, one with olives, and one with cornichons. Position them at different spots on the board to create visual anchors.
  2. Add your cheese next. Place the brie wheel whole on the board. Arrange the aged cheddar triangles in a fan pattern near one corner. Place the goat cheese rounds in a small cluster, and scatter the smoked gouda cubes around the edges. Leave about 2 inches between cheese varieties.
  3. Layer in the meats. Fold each slice of salami in half, then in half again, creating little triangles. Arrange them in a small pile or slight curve near the cheddar. Tear the prosciutto into bite-sized ribbons and drape them loosely.
  4. Fill in with crackers and bread. Fan out crackers in small clusters around the board, placing them near the cheeses they pair best with. If using baguette slices, arrange them in a slight overlapping line.
  5. Scatter the sweet elements. Sprinkle the candy corn in small clusters around the board, especially near the cheddar and dark chocolate. Add dried cranberries in small handfuls, letting them fall naturally into gaps. Place chocolate squares near the almonds.
  6. Add the crunchy bits. Scatter roasted almonds and pumpkin seeds in the empty spaces to fill visual gaps and add texture.
  7. Garnish and finish. Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs around the board. If using edible flowers, place them delicately near the brie or goat cheese. Set the mini pumpkin or gourd on or near the board for a Halloween touch. Fill any obvious empty spots with extra crackers or almonds.

Notes

Take cheese out of fridge 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Don’t overcrowd the board—leave about 20% surface visible. Add honey bowl right before serving to avoid attracting fruit flies. Candy corn pairs surprisingly well with aged cheddar.
