Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (245g) pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (90g) dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (90g) white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the long sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each. Stir in vanilla, pumpkin puree, and milk until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined (a few lumps are fine).
  5. Fold in semi-sweet, dark, and white chocolate chips. Reserve 2 tablespoons for topping.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 55-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. If browning too quickly, tent with foil after 40 minutes.
  8. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then lift out using parchment and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use room-temperature eggs and milk. Do not overmix the batter. Let the bread cool completely before slicing to avoid crumbling. Store at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
