A playful, grab-and-go Friendsgiving feast featuring warm turkey, cheese, cranberry sauce, and nuts served in paper cones on a charcuterie board. Perfect for casual gatherings and built around happy accidents.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked turkey breast, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary (optional)
  • 8–10 paper cones (or parchment paper to make your own)
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (preferably whole berry)
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 8 ounces smoked gouda cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • 1 cup crackers or crostini (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Warm the turkey: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add shredded or sliced turkey, season with salt, pepper, and rosemary if using. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly golden on the edges.
  2. Prepare the cones: If using pre-made cones, skip this step. If making your own, cut parchment paper into 8×8 inch squares. Roll each square into a cone shape, overlapping the edges, and secure with a small piece of tape at the top and bottom. Ensure the opening is about 2 inches across.
  3. Cube the cheese: Cut the cheddar and smoked gouda into 1/2-inch cubes. Keep them uniform for neat presentation.
  4. Arrange the board: Place a large wooden cutting board or serving platter on your serving area. Position the cones in a row or circular pattern, slightly angled like a fan so they support each other.
  5. Fill the cones: Spoon warm turkey into each cone, filling about halfway. Add a few cubes of cheddar and gouda on top of the turkey. Then add a small spoonful of cranberry sauce on top.
  6. Add the extras: Scatter mixed nuts, dried cranberries, and crackers or crostini around the cones on the board. Place small bowls of cranberry sauce and honey in the center or at the corners. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs.
  7. Final touches: Drizzle a little honey over the cheese cubes or directly into some cones. Check that each cone has a good balance of turkey, cheese, and cranberry.
  8. Serve immediately: Place the board in the center of your gathering area. Let guests grab a cone and eat with their hands. Best eaten within 30 minutes.

Notes

Don’t overfill the cones; leave about an inch of space at the top. If cranberry sauce is very liquid, drain some syrup or serve it on the side to prevent soggy cones. Arrange cones leaning against each other for support. Prep all components except turkey warming and assembly up to a day in advance.
