A thick, creamy, and protein-packed smoothie bowl made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, and Greek yogurt. Ready in just 5 minutes, it’s the perfect quick and healthy breakfast or post-workout refuel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium frozen bananas, peeled and sliced before freezing
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (natural, no added sugar)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (about 30g)
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat for best texture)
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice (unsweetened almond milk, oat milk, or dairy milk)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, only if bananas aren’t very ripe)
  • For the toppings: granola, sliced banana, drizzle of peanut butter, dark chocolate chips, chia seeds, or shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Prep your bananas: Peel and slice 2 medium bananas. Place slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  2. Combine the base ingredients: In a blender, add frozen banana slices, peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, Greek yogurt, and milk. Add sweetener if using. Add liquid last.
  3. Blend until smooth: Start on low speed, then increase to high. Stop and scrape down sides as needed. If too thick, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until it comes together. Texture should be thick enough to hold its shape in a bowl.
  4. Taste and adjust: Add more sweetener or peanut butter if desired.
  5. Pour into a bowl: Use a spatula to scrape mixture into a wide, shallow bowl.
  6. Add your toppings: Sprinkle with granola, sliced banana, drizzle of peanut butter, dark chocolate chips, chia seeds, or shredded coconut.
  7. Serve immediately: This bowl does not keep well, so eat right away for best texture.

Notes

For best texture, use frozen bananas that are spotty brown for natural sweetness. Let frozen bananas sit at room temperature for 5 minutes if blender struggles. Don’t over-blend to avoid melting. For dairy-free, use thick coconut yogurt and plant-based milk. For nut-free, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or tahini.
