This Easy Candy Corn Popcorn with White Chocolate Drizzle is a quick and festive snack perfect for Halloween parties, movie nights, or any autumn gathering. It combines crunchy popcorn, creamy white chocolate, and sweet candy corn for an irresistible treat that comes together in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels or one standard bag of microwave popcorn)
  • 1 1/2 cups candy corn
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts (optional)
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup festive sprinkles (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)
  • Mini pretzel pieces (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn. If using kernels, pop 1/2 cup in an air popper or on the stovetop with 2 tablespoons of oil. If using microwave popcorn, pop one standard bag according to package directions. You should end up with about 10 cups. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. Spread the popcorn. Pour the popped popcorn onto your prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Remove any half-popped kernels you spot. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Melt the white chocolate. Combine the white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each, until smooth and fully melted. This usually takes about 2 minutes total. Add the vanilla extract and pinch of salt, then stir until combined.
  4. First drizzle. Using a fork or small whisk, drizzle about half the melted white chocolate over the popcorn in a back-and-forth motion.
  5. Toss and repeat. Using your rubber spatula, gently toss the popcorn to distribute the first layer of chocolate. Then drizzle the remaining white chocolate over the top. Toss again gently until most pieces have some chocolate on them.
  6. Add the candy corn. Sprinkle the candy corn and peanuts (if using) evenly over the chocolate-coated popcorn. Press them in gently with your spatula so they stick.
  7. Optional toppings. If using sprinkles or flaky sea salt, sprinkle them on now while the chocolate is still wet.
  8. Set and break. Let the popcorn sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until the white chocolate is fully set. If you’re in a hurry, pop the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Once set, break the popcorn into clusters with your hands.
  9. Serve or store. Transfer to a serving bowl or store in an airtight container. The popcorn will stay fresh for up to 5 days.

Notes

For best results, use a kitchen scale to measure white chocolate (12 oz = 340 g). Avoid heavily buttered microwave popcorn. Melt white chocolate at 50% power to prevent seizing. If kitchen is humid, refrigerate finished popcorn for 20 minutes to set. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Do not refrigerate.
