This Easy Crockpot Turkey Breast with Garlic Herb Gravy is a simple, hands-off meal that delivers tender, juicy turkey and a rich, flavorful gravy. Perfect for weeknight dinners or lazy Sundays, it uses pantry staples and requires minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2–3 pounds boneless, skinless turkey breast
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 6–8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Garlic Herb Butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried rosemary, dried sage, salt, and black pepper. Mash together with a fork until a uniform paste forms.
  2. Prep the Turkey: Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Place it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Apply the Herb Butter: Rub the garlic herb butter all over the turkey breast, ensuring every part is coated.
  4. Add the Broth: Pour the chicken broth around the turkey breast, not directly over it, so the herb butter stays intact.
  5. Cook Low and Slow: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the turkey shreds easily with a fork.
  6. Check for Doneness: Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of the breast. If not done, cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the Turkey: Carefully transfer the cooked turkey to a cutting board. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Cover loosely with foil to keep warm.
  8. Make the Garlic Herb Gravy: Pour the cooking liquid from the slow cooker into a small saucepan. Skim off excess fat. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Bring the cooking liquid to a simmer over medium heat, then slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry. Continue whisking until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Slice and Serve: Slice the rested turkey breast against the grain into thick slices. Arrange on a platter, pour the gravy over the top, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, thaw the turkey breast overnight in the refrigerator before cooking. If using a frozen turkey breast, add about 50% more cooking time and ensure it reaches 165°F internally. The gravy can be thickened with 3 tablespoons of cornstarch for a thicker consistency or 1 1/2 tablespoons for a thinner gravy. Leftover turkey and gravy should be stored separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. The recipe can be frozen for up to 3 months.
