A quick, no-cook breakfast that tastes like a Reese’s peanut butter cup but is packed with protein and fiber. Perfect for busy mornings, this creamy overnight oats recipe is a crowd-pleaser that keeps kids full until lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk of choice (whole, 2%, or oat milk)
  • 1/4 cup (64g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 scoop (30g) vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Optional toppings: sliced banana, extra peanut butter, dark chocolate chips, granola

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or directly in your jar, combine the milk and peanut butter. Microwave for 20-30 seconds to melt the peanut butter, then whisk until smooth.
  2. Add the vanilla protein powder to the warm milk mixture and whisk vigorously until no dry pockets remain.
  3. Stir in the honey or maple syrup and salt. Taste the liquid and adjust sweetness if needed.
  4. Add the old-fashioned oats and chia seeds (if using) to your jar. Pour the wet mixture over the top and stir well to coat all oats.
  5. Seal the jar with a lid and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  6. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Serve cold or warm, and add desired toppings.

Notes

Warming the milk helps the peanut butter blend smoothly. If using a thick protein powder, add an extra 2-3 tablespoons of milk. For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter. Oats keep in the fridge for up to 4 days. Do not freeze.
