These adorable mummy hot dog bites are a quick and easy Halloween snack made with just three ingredients. Perfect for parties, they come together in about 20 minutes and are sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean cutting board. Pinch the perforated seams together to form one solid sheet.
  3. Cut the dough into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide, using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  4. Cut each hot dog in half crosswise to make 16 mini mummies.
  5. Wrap each hot dog half with a strip of dough, starting at one end and wrapping diagonally with slight overlap. Leave a small gap at the top for the face. Do not wrap too tightly.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffy.
  8. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  9. Add mustard eyes using a toothpick: dip the tip into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto the exposed hot dog at the top of each mummy.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Do not over-wrap the hot dogs; 2-3 wraps is perfect. Space them out on the baking sheet to ensure even browning. Start checking at the 12-minute mark to avoid burning. Let them rest for a few minutes before adding mustard eyes to prevent melting. Can be prepped ahead and refrigerated for up to 4 hours before baking.
