These easy mummy hot dogs with crescent dough wraps are the perfect last-minute Halloween snack. Made with just four ingredients, they’re buttery, flaky, and irresistibly fun—ready in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (all-beef recommended)
  • 1 can (8 ounces) crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Candy eyes (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls and carefully unroll the dough. If using perforated triangles, press the seams together to form a single sheet. If using seamless sheets, proceed directly.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about ¼ to ½ inch wide (8-10 strips per sheet).
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a strip of dough around it, slightly overlapping as you go. Leave a small gap at the top (about ½ inch) for the mummy’s face. Do not wrap too tightly.
  5. Place each wrapped hot dog on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between them.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the crescent dough is golden brown and puffed up, and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Let the mummy hot dogs cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet. Once cool enough to handle, use a toothpick to dab two small dots of yellow mustard on the exposed hot dog for eyes. If using candy eyes, press them gently into the mustard.
  8. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Do not overwrap; a single layer with slight overlaps is best. For a shinier finish, brush with egg wash before baking. These are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
