These Easy Mummy Hot Dogs with Crescent Roll Wrap are a quick, fun, and delicious Halloween treat or weeknight dinner. Made with just three simple ingredients, they are ready in under 20 minutes and guaranteed to make everyone smile.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (standard-sized, beef recommended)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (Pillsbury recommended)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Cooking spray or melted butter (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls. Unroll the dough and separate along perforations into 8 triangles. If using seamless sheet, unroll flat.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. A pizza cutter works best.
  4. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, starting at one end and working to the other. Leave a small gap near the top for eyes. Do not wrap too tightly; overlap strips slightly but leave some hot dog exposed.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Brush with melted butter if desired.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until dough is golden brown and puffy. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Dip a toothpick into mustard and dot two small eyes on each mummy in the gap left near the top.
  8. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Do not overbake; crescent rolls brown quickly. Let dough come to room temperature for easier handling. Use a toothpick for precise mustard eyes. For best results, do not use low-fat crescent rolls. These are best served warm.
