Butter-flaky crescent dough wrapped around juicy hot dogs with a kick of spicy mustard. Ready in just 15 minutes, these fun mummy hot dogs are perfect for Halloween parties, weeknight dinners, or game-day snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 beef hot dogs
  • 2 tablespoons spicy mustard (whole grain Dijon, spicy brown, or horseradish mustard)
  • Mustard or ketchup for eyes (optional)
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated triangles, pinch the seams together to create one solid sheet.
  3. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough lengthwise into about 8-10 thin strips (about 1/2 inch wide).
  4. Pat the hot dogs dry with a paper towel. Optionally, slice a tiny slit in each end for the mustard eyes.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with a dough strip at a slight angle, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes. Overlap the strips slightly and do not wrap too tight.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed, and the hot dogs are heated through.
  8. Once out of the oven and slightly cooled, use a toothpick to dab tiny dots of mustard or ketchup on the exposed hot dog near the top for eyes.
  9. Serve immediately with extra spicy mustard for dipping.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Do not overwrap the hot dogs; leave room for the dough to puff. Add mustard eyes after baking for best results. For a party, you can prep the wrapped hot dogs a few hours ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake. To reheat leftovers, use an oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
