A spooky, vibrant green punch that’s perfect for Halloween parties. This easy, crowd-pleasing recipe combines lemon-lime soda, green sports drink, limeade, and sherbet for a fizzy, frothy, and deliciously fun drink that looks like a bubbling witch’s cauldron.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (64-ounce) bottle of lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up), chilled
  • 1 (12-ounce) can of frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 (64-ounce) bottle of green sports drink (like Mountain Dew or a generic green flavor)
  • 1 quart of lime or pineapple sherbet
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice (optional, but recommended)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes (optional)
  • For garnish (optional): Gummy worms, plastic spiders, lime slices, or dry ice (for a fog effect)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ice ring (optional, but recommended): The night before or a few hours before your party, fill a bundt pan halfway with water. Add some lime slices, gummy worms, or plastic spiders for a fun touch. Freeze until solid. Then, add more water to fill the pan and freeze again.
  2. Chill your ingredients: About an hour before your party, put your lemon-lime soda, green sports drink, and pineapple juice in the fridge. The limeade concentrate should be thawed in the fridge overnight or on the counter for about 30 minutes.
  3. Combine the liquids: In your large punch bowl or pitcher, pour the entire bottle of lemon-lime soda and the entire bottle of green sports drink. Add the cup of pineapple juice. Stir gently with your long spoon to combine.
  4. Add the limeade concentrate: Pour in the thawed limeade concentrate. Stir again until it’s fully dissolved into the liquid.
  5. Add the sherbet: Using a large spoon, scoop big dollops of the lime or pineapple sherbet into the punch. Don’t stir it in! Just let it float on top.
  6. Add the ice ring: Carefully remove your ice ring from the bundt pan by running the outside under warm water for a few seconds. Place it gently into the punch bowl.
  7. Garnish and serve: If you’re using dry ice, now is the time to add a small piece with tongs. Otherwise, scatter some gummy worms or plastic spiders around the edge of the bowl. Ladle the punch into cups, making sure each cup gets a little bit of the frothy sherbet on top.

Notes

Don’t add the sherbet too early, or it will melt and lose the frothy effect. Add it right before guests arrive. For a boozy version, add 1-2 cups of vodka, white rum, or coconut rum. For a dairy-free version, use sorbet instead of sherbet. Handle dry ice with tongs and never let anyone touch or ingest it. The punch is best served immediately but liquids (without sherbet) can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
