A lighter, creamy Buffalo chicken dip shaped like a spider web, perfect for game day or Halloween parties. Made with Greek yogurt and reduced-fat cream cheese, it’s ready in under 30 minutes and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot Original)
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix (half a packet)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup light sour cream
  • Celery sticks, carrot sticks, and tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Ensure cream cheese is softened.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, Greek yogurt, softened cream cheese, hot sauce, and ranch seasoning. Stir until well incorporated.
  3. Fold in 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese and all of the mozzarella. Reserve remaining 1/2 cup cheddar for topping.
  4. Transfer mixture to an oven-safe platter or 9-inch pie dish. Spread into an even layer and smooth the top.
  5. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until hot and bubbly around edges. For a browner top, broil for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Spoon light sour cream into a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip a tiny corner (about 1/8 inch wide).
  9. Pipe three concentric circles of sour cream on the dip, starting from the center.
  10. Using a toothpick or knife tip, gently drag from the center outward through the sour cream circles, spacing lines evenly (6-8 times) to create a spider web pattern. Wipe toothpick clean between each line.
  11. Optional: Garnish with a pitted black olive for the spider body and thin bell pepper strips or chives for legs.
  12. Serve immediately with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and tortilla chips.

Notes

Let dip cool slightly before adding sour cream web to prevent melting. For a vegetarian version, swap chicken for chickpeas or cauliflower. Dip can be assembled a day ahead (without sour cream web) and refrigerated; add 5-7 minutes to baking time.
