Easy and festive chocolate-covered pretzel bites shaped like graduation hats, perfect for celebrations and parties. These salty-sweet snacks are quick to make and loved by all ages.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (255 g) chocolate chips or melting wafers (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • Mini square-shaped pretzels
  • Mini marshmallows or small candy dots
  • Black licorice strings or thin candy strips
  • Optional: sprinkles or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips or melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl by microwaving in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted (about 1-2 minutes).
  2. Using tongs or a fork, dip each mini pretzel halfway into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Press a mini marshmallow or candy dot gently onto the center of each chocolate-dipped pretzel while the chocolate is still wet.
  4. Cut black licorice strings into 1- to 2-inch pieces and attach one piece to each marshmallow or candy button by pressing it into the chocolate before it sets.
  5. Allow the pretzel bites to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed up the process.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle edible glitter or small sprinkles over the chocolate caps just before they set.

Notes

Melt chocolate slowly and stir often to prevent scorching. Use firm mini pretzels to avoid breakage. Attach licorice tassels while chocolate is tacky but not too wet or dry. Store in a cool, dry place to prevent melting or sogginess. Refrigerate if needed but bring to room temperature before serving.
