A simple and festive layered cocktail featuring vibrant red grenadine, creamy white coconut cream, and bright blue curaçao, perfect for patriotic celebrations like the 4th of July.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) grenadine syrup
  • 3 oz (90 ml) coconut cream
  • 1 oz (30 ml) sweetened condensed milk (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 oz (60 ml) blue curaçao liqueur
  • 1 oz (30 ml) vodka (optional)
  • Fresh blueberries or a slice of lime for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall clear glass halfway with ice cubes to chill it and help with layering.
  2. Slowly pour 2 oz (60 ml) of grenadine syrup into the bottom of the glass, letting it settle as the red layer.
  3. In a separate mixing glass, combine 3 oz (90 ml) coconut cream and 1 oz (30 ml) sweetened condensed milk. Stir gently until smooth and creamy.
  4. Hold a spoon upside down just above the red layer, resting the back of the spoon against the glass. Slowly pour the white coconut mixture over the spoon so it gently floats atop the grenadine.
  5. Mix 2 oz (60 ml) blue curaçao with 1 oz (30 ml) vodka in a small cup and stir gently.
  6. Using the spoon method again, slowly pour the blue mixture over the white layer’s back to create the top blue layer.
  7. Garnish with fresh blueberries or a lime wedge on the rim and serve immediately with a straw, being careful not to stir the layers.

Notes

Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to keep layers distinct. Chill all ingredients and glass beforehand. Use fresh ice to avoid dilution. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute blue curaçao with blue raspberry syrup or blue sports drink and omit vodka.
