This Spooky Halloween Sherbet Punch is a quick and easy party drink that combines orange juice, lemon-lime soda, purple grape soda, and orange sherbet for a creamy, fizzy, and spooky treat. Perfect for Halloween parties, it comes together in under 10 minutes and can be made with or without dry ice for a dramatic smoky effect.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (64-ounce) bottle of orange juice
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle of lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up)
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle of purple grape soda (like Welch’s or Fanta)
  • 1 (1.5-quart) container of orange sherbet
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice (optional)
  • 1 cup of frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup of frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1–2 cups of dry ice (optional, for smoky effect)
  • Gummy worms or plastic spider rings (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your ingredients: About an hour before serving, put the orange juice, lemon-lime soda, and grape soda in the fridge to get ice-cold.
  2. Prepare your punch bowl: Set your punch bowl on a sturdy table. If using dry ice, ensure the bowl can handle extreme cold. Add the frozen berries and pineapple chunks to the bottom of the bowl.
  3. Pour in the juices: Pour the chilled orange juice and pineapple juice (if using) into the bowl. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Add the sodas: Slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda and grape soda down the side of the bowl to minimize fizzing. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Scoop in the sherbet: Using a large spoon or ice cream scoop, add big scoops of orange sherbet to the punch. Do not stir—let it float on top.
  6. Add the dry ice (optional): Using tongs, carefully add small pieces of dry ice (about the size of a golf ball) to the punch. Never touch dry ice with bare hands. Wait until it has completely dissolved (5-10 minutes) before serving.
  7. Garnish and serve: Drop a few gummy worms or plastic spider rings into the punch for garnish. Ladle the punch into cups, making sure each cup gets a piece of fruit and a bit of the sherbet foam. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best texture, make sure the sherbet is frozen solid when added. If it’s too soft, it will melt too quickly. For a dairy-free version, use coconut or mango sorbet instead of sherbet. For a lower-sugar version, use diet soda and sugar-free sherbet. Do not let anyone drink the dry ice—wait until it has completely dissolved before serving. The punch is best served immediately; leftovers can be strained and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days, but will lose fizz.
