These spooky mummy pigs in a blanket are a quick and easy Halloween snack made with just three ingredients. Crescent roll dough is cut into strips and wrapped around mini hot dogs to create a mummy effect, then baked until golden and served with mustard eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (12 oz) mini hot dogs or cocktail sausages
  • Yellow mustard or ketchup (for the eyes)
  • Optional: everything bagel seasoning, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, or paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforated lines into 8 triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Wrap each mini hot dog with a dough strip, leaving small gaps between wraps to create the mummy effect. Press ends gently to seal.
  5. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  8. Dip the tip of a toothpick into mustard or ketchup and dot two small eyes onto each mummy.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Don’t over-wrap the hot dogs; visible gaps create the mummy effect. Use a light hand with mustard eyes to prevent running. Bake on the middle rack for even browning. Can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated. Freeze unbaked mummies for up to 2 months.
