A simple, wholesome charcuterie board featuring fresh figs, honey, sharp cheddar, goat cheese, prosciutto, apples, and roasted almonds. Perfect for fall gatherings, this board comes together in under 20 minutes with no cooking required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8–10 fresh figs, halved
  • ¼ cup raw honey
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 4 oz soft goat cheese log
  • 6 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), sliced
  • 1 cup roasted almonds (unsalted or lightly salted)
  • ½ cup dried figs
  • 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 20 pieces crackers or crostini
  • ⅓ cup fig jam or preserves

Instructions

  1. Prep the Figs (5 minutes): Rinse fresh figs gently under cool water and pat dry. Trim off hard stem end, then slice each fig in half lengthwise. Set aside.
  2. Slice the Cheese (5 minutes): Cut sharp cheddar into thin slices or small cubes, about ¼ inch thick. Slice goat cheese into ½-inch rounds or leave as a log.
  3. Slice the Apples (3 minutes): Core apples and slice into thin wedges, about ¼ inch thick. Toss with lemon juice if not serving immediately to prevent browning. Pat dry before arranging.
  4. Prepare the Honey and Jam (2 minutes): Pour raw honey into one small bowl and fig jam into another. If honey has crystallized, warm jar in a bowl of hot water until liquid.
  5. Arrange the Board (10 minutes): Place small bowls of honey and fig jam on board, spacing them out. Place cheddar on one side, goat cheese on the other. Drape prosciutto slices loosely in ribbons or waves.
  6. Add the Fruits and Nuts (5 minutes): Scatter fresh fig halves and dried figs around board, tucking between cheese and prosciutto. Add apple slices in small clusters. Sprinkle roasted almonds in gaps to fill empty spaces.
  7. Garnish and Drizzle (3 minutes): Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs into arrangement. Just before serving, drizzle a little extra honey over figs and goat cheese.
  8. Add the Crackers (2 minutes): Arrange crackers or crostini in small stacks or fans around edges of board.
  9. Final Check (1 minute): Step back and look at board. Fill any big empty spots with extra nuts or fig halves. Serve immediately, or cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. If refrigerated, let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, take cheese out of fridge 30 minutes before assembling. Don’t overcrowd the board—give ingredients breathing room. Layer textures intentionally: creamy goat cheese next to crunchy almonds, soft figs next to crisp apples. Use a light hand with honey as it’s potent. Prep cheese, wash figs, and toast almonds a day in advance. Slice apples and arrange board right before serving. For food safety, don’t let board sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
